March 2010

One great season is over and another great season is about to begin! It is a privilege and an adventure serving Christ on the mission field. Last week I was invited to a Pastors retreat to encourage them in the word. When I was told where the location was I kind of knew where it was but wasn't 100 percent sure. Juanito and I head out towards the village where the Pastors meetings would be. About an hour and a half into the trip we were forced to stop as we sat speechless at the sight we were looking at. We probably looked like a deer in head lights as we stared at a massive river in front of us. All I could think was, “Did I miss the turn? Is this really happening? What next?” I rolled down my window and asked a local where the village was. He pointed his finger across the river and said, “A few miles that way”. My thoughts began to race through my head. Ok, we could go back but, we are so close. I thought about a missionary that I once knew and a picture that I had hanging in my office...

Turning back was never an option!

If you don't go, you'll never know!

We also had a nice flat tire:-) They feed us like royalty

The reward was to be able to encourage all of these Pastors in the word!
